Meditation is Good for Your Heart

In a recent press release, study author Dr. Robert Schneider, director of the Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention in Fairfield, Iowa and dean of Maharishi College of Perfect Health said, “”It appears that Transcendental Meditation is a technique that turns on the body’s own pharmacy — to repair and maintain itself.” According to researcher those how meditated had a 5mmHG fall in blood pressure and felt less angry than those who did not meditate and just took education classes. Meditation is not new. It has been around for  thousand years. There is nothing taboo about it.  If fact, when I had my private practice as a clinical hypnotherapist, the state of relaxation achieved through meditation decreased blood pressure in nearly every client.  Many clients would confirm this when they would go to their doctors. It is great for stress reduction, or for someone that is truly committed to kicking the habit (smoking).

Meditation is vital to healing after a heart attack.  Your mind is powerful. Self healing, regeneration, and renewal may be achieved through meditation. It sets up your environment for healing capacity.  A stressful environment is not beneficial for healing, give your body every opportunity to bring on the healing effect.
